Archistars and their masterpieces

As an artist captures the essence of everything he reproduces, manifesting his personality, so an archistar builds not just ordinary constructions, but monuments. The goal is to enrich the surrounding environment and reveal originality through innovative design. New international projects have their foundation in that spirit and find their uniqueness in urban regeneration.

An example is Morpheus, a 40-storey structure built by the Zaha Hadid Architects studio and included within the Macau resort:  780 ultra-luxurious hotel rooms, a VIP casino and the geometric exoskeleton complete the City of Dreams complex. The British architect Thomas Heatherwick transformed an abandoned grain silo into new buildings in Cape Town: the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa, the largest museum of contemporary African art in the world, and the Silo Hotel, a luxury hotel located in the last six floors, that formerly included the mechanical grain handling tower. Other original projects are the Kalidria Hotel & Thalasso Spa, a 5-star resort which modernize the Nova Yardinia tourist complex (now Ethra Reserve) in Castellaneta Marina, and the Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Jesolo, an elegant resort mixed with the colors of the Adriatic coast, created by Richard Meier (architect) and Matteo Thun (interior designer).

That’s the new frontier of architecture: building to give value to landscape and to enhance its beauties.
